Peter is an experienced former Housing Association Director with a track record from over 20 years across the sector of improving and sustaining performance and value for money for organisations; developing innovative services, policies and strategies; helping organisations with strategic responses to change; and delivering projects on time, to budget and to agreed outcomes. Peter’s expertise and experience covers the full range of operational and strategic remits in Local Authority, Housing Association and private sector organisations- from asset management through to value for money. Since 2007, he has completed a variety of interim executive and strategic consultancy/research projects for organisations across the country, and been published widely in the national media on key housing issues.
Welfare reform presents one of the biggest challenges and risks to the housing sector for a generation. Under occupation charges, Universal Credit and direct payments to tenants, alongside less publicised changes such as Council Tax, Incapacity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance, Legal Aid, Supported Housing and the implementation of a Single Fraud Investigation service across the country will have a significant impact on tenants and landlords from April 2013.
Since 2011, PHHSL been at the forefront of helping landlords and tenants to prepare for the changes while the Bill passed through the House of Lords – with numerous and very popular briefings, articles and guides.
