Scott has worked in the social housing sector for the past 14 years (following a career in banking and sales). He has managed a wide range of regeneration programmes including the award winning ‘Get Set for Citizenship’ programme in Deptford, South London. After successfully establishing the financial inclusion work in Hyde Housing, he set up his own consultancy, helping a number of housing associations develop their work on social inclusion. Since early 2010 he has been managing the financial and digital inclusion programmes for Affinity Sutton, focusing on how both can benefit residents, which engages with over 2,000 residents each year. He enjoys all aspects of technology and is a keen advocate on how IT can help residents in everyday life.
Affinity Sutton Housing is one of the country’s largest housing providers with over 57,000 homes. In 2012 Affinity Sutton signed a contract with the HCA for £65m to build another 3,000 new homes between 2011-15 – one of the largest contracts in the country. To work with its residents on the Universal Credit issue, it has appointed five new welfare benefits advisers to help our residents understand the new benefit changes and help them to prepare for these by offering support to open bank accounts and set up direct debit payments.
