NT 310 ultraportable notebook offers highest performance, lowest price point

Windows 8 options to schools

BETT, 30th January 2013 – Stone Group, the UK-based ICT services provider specifically for the public sector, today announced the launch of its NT 310, a cost-effective notebook designed for use in busy education environments. The NT 310 is Stone’s first lower price-point device to offer Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro.

Stone’s NT 310 is designed with a lighter, more slimline chassis making it 25% thinner than its previous iteration. The NT 310 is predicted to be one of Stone’s highest volume selling products in 2013. Stone Group sold over 25,000 UK-built notebooks in 2012, with around 20,000 being the new notebook’s predecessor – the NT 309 – making it the best selling UK-built notebook of 2012.

The NT 310 chassis has been manufactured with the classroom in mind – designed to withstand the particular pressures of academic use, from the daily removal from a laptop trolley – to the intensive graphics requirements of a design lab.

The NT 310 specifications comprise:

  • Up to Windows 8 Pro
  • Up to Intel® CoreTM i7 – 3612QM Quad Core Processor
    • Up to 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
    • Up to 750GB Hard Disk Drive or 256GB Solid State Drive
    • 15.6” HD LED Display
    • Intel® HD Graphics 4000
    • Up to Blu-Ray, DVD R/W or Optical Drive Blanking Plate
    • 2MP Webcam
    • TPM 1.2 for increased data security
    • High capacity battery for improved usage
    • Up to 5 Year Warranty

“This is an important product for our customers to see at BETT because it means schools with challenged budgets can not only get a robust, durable laptop – but one that is on the cutting edge of design too,” commented Simon Harbridge, CEO at Stone. “Windows 8 for education has been refined to really make a difference in the classroom, and the NT 310 gives fast, reliable, durable access to its benefits.”

“We’ve been calling the NT 310 an ‘Ultranote’, because in look and feel, it comes close to the Ultrabook, but it remains at that economical notebook price point that many schools need in this current economic climate. As a group purchase, it offers an affordable, effective way for ICT managers to enable a high quality ICT provision for both students and staff alike.”

The NT 310 is available from Stone Group and can be viewed and demonstrated on Stone’s stand (c70) at BETT 2013.
